Introducing X-Ray View

Britt Bollinger·
See what's really inside your clients' portfolios.
X-Ray View looks through every fund to its underlying securities, rolling everything up across funds, accounts, and custodians to show each client's true exposure.
The problem isn't the portfolio. It's the packaging.
A client who owns thirty funds may believe they own thirty different bets. In reality, the same underlying companies can appear across many of them.
The information to prove it has always existed — every fund publishes its holdings. But assembling the truth means pulling thirty fact sheets, weighting each position, and reconciling accounts scattered across custodians who don't talk to each other. So the analysis stops at the fund level, and everything downstream inherits the blind spot: concentration goes undetected, risk is misread, and the advisor learns their client's real exposure at the worst possible moment — when the client asks.
Portfolio intelligence built on surface-level holdings is structurally incomplete. We built X-Ray View to complete it.
Meet X-Ray View
The portfolio beneath the portfolio.
Today we're introducing X-Ray View — position-level look-through for every portfolio on Bespoke, down to the underlying security.
Not a report you run. A property of the platform. From the moment a portfolio lands in Bespoke, its true composition is simply known.
What X-Ray reveals
True exposure
See the true portfolio: every underlying security and weight, rolled up by sector, region, market cap, and style — across every fund and account, including funds inside funds.
Hidden risk
See what's driving exposure and risk: cross-fund overlap, hidden concentration, benchmark-relative exposure, drift from target, and the effective cost of the portfolio — in dollars, not just basis points.
Client-ready answers
Every insight traces back to the underlying positions and the numbers behind it — so advisors can explain what's driving the portfolio with confidence and stand behind the analysis.
Actionable insight
Turn insight into action. A concentration finding becomes a diversification workflow; embedded gains become a tax-transition plan; harvestable losses flow directly into the tax-loss engine. The insight and the action live in the same system.
How it works
X-Ray View is built on Bespoke's Security Master, the canonical registry of every instrument on the platform. Fund constituents are loaded, versioned, and refreshed automatically, with identifiers resolved across vendors so the same underlying company is recognized as the same company wherever it appears.
The result isn't more data. It's one consistent view of what the portfolio actually holds — reproducible at any point in time.
From packaging to truth
- Holdings listed fund by fund → One view of true underlying exposure
- Concentration discovered when the client asks → Concentration surfaced before it becomes a conversation
- Sector and region views built on fund labels → Allocation built on what the funds actually hold
- Overlap analysis: a weekend in a spreadsheet → Overlap analysis: already computed
- Insight in one tool, action in another → Finding flows directly into a workflow
Why we built this now
Advisors manage more complexity than ever — multi-custodian households, layered fund structures, portfolios accumulated over decades. But most portfolio intelligence still starts with what a fund is called, rather than what it actually holds.
We think true exposure shouldn't be another report or another workflow. It should be structural — something every analytic, every signal, and every agent can reason from automatically. X-Ray View is that foundation. Risk, suitability, tax, proposals, and everything Bespoke builds on top of it can now start from the same underlying truth.
